Fisk University President Kevin Rome has been placed on leave after court documents show a restraining order was filed against him. “Fisk University has ended its relationship with Dr. Kevin D. Rome, Sr.,” the university said in a statement. Dr. Kevin Rome Sr. brought a fresh energy when he stepped on the campus of Fisk University back in 2017. “Fisk University has ended its relationship with Dr. Kevin D. Things were going great, until recently, when Rome had a restraining order placed on him and that positive light dimmed. The announcement was made two weeks after the university learned of allegations that Rome had drugged and threatened a man. Fisk University told News 2 it has “ended its relationship” with Dr. Rome, and “thanks Dr. Rome for his service.” “The University thanks Dr. Rome for his service as president of Fisk and wishes the very best to him and his family.” Rome did not respond to voicemail or email requesting comment. The university said in a statement that it “has ended its relationship” with Rome. Rome moved to Nashville in 2017 when he was selected as Fisk University's 16th president.
